This painting was recently featured at the Museum of Russian Art in NJ.

At first glance, this painting appears to be something so simple- a kitchen table with everyday objects.  However, by looking closer, you see an entire story ignite amongst the detail.

We see a bouquet that is made up of small houses- each of them possessing different families, traditions and memories. Beyond that, we can see many faces of the people that occupy these dwellings. Every one of them having completely different lives and yet all somehow connected.

Take your time with this one. You will need it to ensure you capture all of the brilliance that is camouflaged in this scene.

This piece is a powerful depiction of sources of inspiration. There are multiple influences throughout the painting that channel a level of creativity. Notice the angel in the sky perhaps symbolizing a spiritual influence. The other hints prove to be a tad more decadent. Notice the wine and cheese tempting the viewer with its satisfying realness. Upon closer look, we notice a fish outlined along the shore, further exemplifying the refined taste of this inspirational source.
