Leaving Eden is currently on display at the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas, TX.
This artwork captures one of the most somber moments of humanity – the departure of Adam and Eve from the Garden. The forbidden fruit of knowledge has been tasted. The serpent has played his gruesome part and the union with God has been severed.
The silver plate defines the borders of the perfect world, full of life and colors. Regrettably, Adam and Eve have to step down towards their new, now broken existence. The land beyond the plate is barren and points to the grim reality that faces them.
The face of the Lord can be seen in the cloud. He is letting His creation live through the consequences of their choices.
