An elderly man is looking out upon his now older lover, but is actually seeing the love of his youth. It is just two of them as they were in their earlier days, talking over a cup of tea. The man is embodied by an old oak- full wisdom and reflection. The light pole bends inside the man’s glasses. A miniature scene in the middle of the painting, unwraps the beauty of the composition.
