The Eucharist II is a sequel to the most popular of Bregeda’s paintings. The Eucharist series has become the signature card of Bregeda’s Christian symbolism. Victor uses his surrealistic art to portray the image of the Last Supper, Jesus and the idea of divine love.
The paintings are interconnected by subjects, composition and the artistic method of transformation. The candle is the symbol of light and Christian faith, transforming into the image of Christ and The Twelve Apostles. The image of Jesus Christ can be seen in the flames of the Eucharist as the Apostles, bowing in devotion, are seen encircling the exterior of the candle.
