In Somewhere in Time, Victor shows that at certain points in our life, we are given the opportunity to come out of the cave. Here in the light, we can see what we have produced with our lives thus far. We can review our creation and make choices about our future path. Victor shows that another track exists by remaining in the light.

Coming out of the cave is a spiritual decision. With flaming colors, Victor suggest that the cave might be the place of damnation. Everyone coming out is choosing new life with God’s acceptance. We can almost hear the celestial music coming from the violin, which gives the viewer a three-dimensional perception of the image.

Stepping back, we see that the painting composition takes place on the body of an angel (face upper right). The angel rests his chin upon his right hand. We see people emerging from the cave by way of the angel’s shoulder. On the upper left, the angel’s wings are visible. In the sky, we see that for the angel, day and night are on in the same.
